Can a married person file bankruptcy alone?

I am married, currently seperated, hope to work the marraige out though, but I think I need to file bankruptcy. Can I file alone as married but one my name and my debt which is all in my name?

  2. you can file for bankruptcy as a single but only if the debts are in your name only.
    joint debt must be done together in bankruptcy
    also remember that it does not affect your spouses credit record when you go bankrupt alone
