Prior to January, I had just house hold bills, and a couple credit cards I am paying off. Paid one off completely, with 2 to go. (lost job a while back and it snowballed into owing around 7 grand total, paid off one, 2 grand, 2 left)…..have usual property tax, light bill, water, etc. (and my internet, which is my ONLY recreation/entertainment, no going out to movie/dinners etc.)
But have about 10K in new medical bills, due to a MISdiognosis on top of it…..The house and vehicles are paid for, vehicles aren’t worth squat, but the property is enough to cover it all, but….
A. would a lender even consider refinancing, not behind on anything……
B. property is paid for, and so badly don’t want a mortgage again…
C. if I don’t, I am sure they can hound me till I have a nervous breakdown or smack a lein, or attempt to take my property for the medical bills.
D. home equity, if something happens and you can’t pay, poof, they GET your property.
any suggestions?????

My Husbands ex wife was ordered to pay certain bills in their divorce court she has now filed bankrupsy can she really have these bills dismissed in bankrupys court?(she named him as the creditor) She was also awarded the house and did not sell or refinace the house in the 90 days. She quit making payments and she let the house go into forclosure and lost it…along with the equity..can this be dismissed by her as well? I know that my husband is still responsible for the bill because she did not get her name off it…but she should still be held responsible because she was court ordered to take the house payments

I guess he lost his job due to illness and she gave him the cc info. She has less than $5,000 in debt and why he is telling her to do this I don’t know. He also got her to send him $800 in July, (her only income is ss) She is a fiesty thing and to tell her that her son is taking advantage doesn’t go over well at all! Son keeps telling her he is going to come see her and they will go to a lawyer, he never shows. She cut up her cc and told bank she was filing , froze her account and can’t get money she does have. Now she says she is going to pay her part and let him file on his part. She does not get that it can’t be split. She is really pretty capable of most things but her “stubborness” does get in the way and she does have abit of dementia that seems to just throw of reality a times. We have to let her believe it is her idea to move forward with things. (Her kids don’t have much to do with her because she is this way.) M,D &I help her (adjoining appt) but are unsure what to do next.

And that just did it for me i never got in the car ever again since.

The only debt im staying with is my motorcycle which im almost done paying, My new car which is not under my name, And my mans car which is under my name.

The bank is calling to repo the lincoln. its parked not hidding or anything. im giving them a hard time because they had locked my account and made 16 of my checks bounce causing fees to those who tried to cash the checks… The credit union paid the fees and i closed my account with them and now im banking with someone else…

What can they do if im giving them a hard time by not answering and them not knowing my new address and they keep having a bigger loss on the car. The car doesnt even start its been parked for over almost 3 months now… the bank is in miami so they have to pay someone to deliver it to miami from texas.

what are the steps besides calling and sending mails. How long till they put a restraining notice on my bank accounts. i have yet to pay my lawyer b/c i want to give him the full 2,500 cash instead of payments. Im short like 400 bucks… But almost done paying..

i just want to know what power they have if they are having problems finding the car and getting intouch with me.
I know they can report the car stolen but when will that happen ? what else could happen ?
my son wont go to foster care i have a present father.

why would they charge me with fraud?

what would be the reason for them arresting me if the car is parked ready for them to get it, im not keeping them away from it. Its their job to repo it.

and why would they freeze my accounts if im going to have a lawyer and im filing chapter 7 i dont owe them sht
the lawyer said i can keep those 2 debts because with the car i only owe liek 7 K and never been late and the bike i only owe 2K and i never been late and i only pay like 63 bucks a month for it.

all the other debt was WAY more than what im keeping

Let me start from the beginning. several years ago my husband was wrongfully accused of stealing a cell phone. He needed a lawyer and didn’t have the money. His sister recieved several student loans but decided not to go to school. She gave him $1,000 of her loan to get the lawyer. He paid her $75 a month until it was paid off. She has not had to pay back the loans yet to this day. Later, we used her credit card along with her and her parents to purchase furniture. We were making the monthly payments on it. Soon after, his sister needed money to pay bills. My husband opened a loan of $1,000 for her. She had to pay it though. She recently decided to file bankrupsy. She said that if we paid the remaining balance on the loan we gave her $600 plus $75 we can keep our furniture and not have to pay back the balance ($1,000) because it was to be covered by the bankrupsy. The $675 was to help her pay for the bankrupsy lawyer. She went to the lawyer today and they said that she has to pay ….
another $300 to keep the furniture or they would take it away. His sister then called us and told us the we had to pay it. To me this is crap! The furniture at this point isnt even worth what we have to put into it. Also about a month ago his sister asked for $200. He asked when can she pay it back and she said when she gets her stimulus check in 2 weeks. He said that was fine. She went and called their mother and started complaining that he was only giving her 2 weeks to pay it back when she is the one who said that in the first place. The whole family makes it seem that my husband owes them for helping him out when he was in trouble. The money his sister gave him was not out of her personal income. It was a student loan!My husband told his sister that either she pay the $300 or they take the furniture and she owes back the $600 from the loan he paid off for her. Thats fair right? She and her mother flipped out and made it out that he was such a bad person for this! What should I do?
She already got her stimulus check.
